As 2024 draws to a close, I am filled with pride and gratitude to connect with you through this final Chairman's Letter of the year. Together, we have shared a season of unforgettable moments, remarkable achievements, and inspiring stories that have strengthened the bond between Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club and you, our most valuable supporters. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way.
2024 has been another year to be proud of. We once again retained our title as Premier League champions. Although we fell short of reaching certain important milestones this year, our trophy cabinet remains healthy, and our aspirations are still set on the biggest prizes. As I write this letter, our club finds itself in a strong position at the top of the Betway Premiership Log — a promising way to end the year and an exciting start for 2025.

This year, we bid farewell to three special coaches who devoted a significant part of their careers to our Club: Rulani Mokwena, Manqoba Mngqithi, and Wendell Robinson. While we have parted ways with these gentlemen, the Club remains eternally grateful for their contributions to our most successful era. They will forever be part of the Mamelodi Sundowns family.

On December 10th, we welcomed Coach Miguel Cardoso and his assistants, Fabio Fernandes, Pedro Azevedo, and João Araújo, to Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club. Hailing from Portugal, Coach Miguel has not only worked with world-class players like Luka Modrić during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk but has also proven himself to be a tactician, motivator, and leader who connects deeply with his players and the communities he serves. His belief in the potential of our Club, our supporters, and our country aligns perfectly with our aspirations. Coach Miguel’s arrival marks a new chapter in our journey to elevate Mamelodi Sundowns to even greater heights. We look forward to the extraordinary achievements that lie ahead under his guidance.
The year also saw our phenomenal Ladies Team, affectionately known as Banyana Ba Style, defend their Hollywoodbets Super League title for a record fifth consecutive time. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their resilience and determination. Though this season presented challenges in the CAF Women’s Champions League, these experiences underscore the reality that serial winners must always adapt, innovate, and overcome. As other teams study and counter our strengths, we are confident that Banyana Ba Style will rise to the occasion, as they always do, and continue to make us proud in the coming year.

Our Academy teams also made us beam with pride in 2024. Our young talents travelled to Saudi Arabia to compete and learn from some of the best teams globally, showcasing their potential on an international stage. Closer to home, our boys’ and girls’ youth teams achieved numerous tournament victories and league titles, proving that the future of Mamelodi Sundowns is in capable hands. These accomplishments reflect not only the talent of our youth but also the unwavering support of their families and the dedication of our Academy coaches and staff.

To our players, thank you for your brilliance on the pitch this year. Your commitment and sacrifices—traveling far and wide and missing family occasions to inspire countless fans—do not go unnoticed. To your families, we express our heartfelt gratitude for sharing your loved ones with the world and supporting them unconditionally. To our incredible staff—those in the kitchens, offices, sports grounds, and medical rooms—and to our coaches across all levels of the Club, thank you for your tireless work and dedication to our shared vision. To our Board, thank you for your counsel and steadfast support. And to our Club President, we remain eternally grateful for your love and investment in Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club.
As we look ahead to 2025, excitement fills the air. New partnerships are on the horizon, fresh talent and personnel will be joining our ranks, and we have many thrilling trophies to prepare for and conquer. This coming year has all the ingredients to be the greatest season in the history of Mamelodi Sundowns, and your unwavering support will be crucial to achieving this. From the first match of 2025 to the last, we need every member of the Yellow Nation to rally behind the team, fill the stands, sing with pride, and show the world why our supporters are second to none.

Thank you, Masandawana, for making 2024 a year to remember. Let us embrace 2025 with optimism, determination, and unity. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
