Launch of Mafeteng Branch in LesothoAuthor: John AliuMamelodi Sundowns officially launched the Mafeteng Branch in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho in November, marking a milestone for the Club and its supporters. The Yellow Nation turned out in huge numbers, celebrating in a vibrant mix of Sotho cultural attire and Sundowns regalia, creating an atmosphere buzzing with energy, pride and excitement.The launch is part of Sundowns’ ongoing mission to grow football talent and strengthen connections with supporters across the region, bringing the Yellow Nation closer to them.

Molete Sepamo, newly appointed Chairperson of the Mafeteng Branch, shared his excitement about leading this new initiative:
“Personally, it is an honour to serve as Chairperson of the Mafeteng Branch. I see this as an incredible opportunity to unite our energetic supporters, support young talent and strengthen our connection with the Club in South Africa. I appreciate the trust vested in me, and I am eager to carry the Club’s passion and success into Lesotho, creating memorable experiences for our supporters.”
When asked about the branch’s vision for its first year, Sepamo explained: “Our core goal is to grow the supporter base in Lesotho while creating unique and engaging experiences for our supporters. We aim to host events, support grassroots initiatives and ensure that Masandawana supporters feel part of the Club’s journey every step of the way. We want to promote a family atmosphere, engaging local communities, schools and businesses to strengthen the bond with the Club.”

Highlighting milestones for the first year, he added: “We hope to build a strong and vibrant community of supporters, organize social events and create platforms that nurture local talent. The Yellow Nation in Lesotho can look forward to tournaments, interactive activities and opportunities to celebrate the Club’s achievements together.”

As the festive season approaches, Sepamo extended a heartfelt message to Masandawana: “I wish all our supporters in Lesotho and across Africa a joyful festive season. Let us celebrate safely, stay connected and continue to support Mamelodi Sundowns with pride and passion. Together, let us keep pushing forward and growing the Yellow Nation family.”
