Banyana Ba Style recently clinched their fifth consecutive league title with a dominant 5-0 victory over Tshwane Derby rivals, TUT Ladies. Now, as two-time Continental Champions, the team is set to compete in Morocco from November 9 to 23 with the aim of retaining the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Coach Jerry Tshabalala believes that securing the league title has provided a solid foundation for their upcoming defense of the Continental crown.

“Our consistent league performance throughout the season has prepared us well for the Champions League. In recent months, we have had to adapt by shuffling our squad due to players on National duty and we have managed to maintain our momentum and depth. This resilience shows the quality of our roster. It feels fantastic to head to Morocco with the league title already secured.”

“I am very happy with the team’s achievements this season. It reflects the hard work of every player and the commitment of our coaching staff. We are also grateful for the support of our management and loyal supporters. This run of league titles reflects the Club’s commitment to excellence and resilience. We are building a legacy to inspire our team and young players aspiring to reach these heights.”
With the Hollywoodbets Super League title secured, Sundowns Ladies now have a chance to complete a league and Continental double with a win in Morocco. With all the possible achievements, Coach Jerry is urging the team to stay grounded.

“We enter every competition expecting to win, but we remain focused and humble. We remember what happened in 2022 when we lost the final in Morocco. Returning this year, we are determined, but we must stay professional and keep our feet on the ground.”

Drawn in Group B, Sundowns Ladies face Egypt’s Tutankhamun FC, Ethiopia’s CBE FC and Nigeria’s Edo Queens—all tournament debutants.

“We are familiar with the style and intensity these regions bring, but each team has its unique strengths. We expect three distinct challenges, and we will need to adapt our game plan each time. Since they are debutants, they will be eager to make an impression. We have to approach each match with respect, focus and dedication.”
