Mamelodi Sundowns (MS): How would you rate your overall performance since you joined the club?
Miche Minnies (MM):
Since joining Banyana Ba Style, everyone has made me feel welcome. Every chance I get to wear the jersey, I do so with pride and I am glad my performances have been great. So far, I would rate myself at 80% because there is much more room for improvement.
MS: Who is your sports hero and what have you learned from her/him?
I have crossed paths with many professionals in my young career. Banyana International, Linda Motlhalo (who plays for Swedish club, Djurgardens) stands out for me. She is very humble and I love her confidence on the ball.
MS: How would you describe your working relationship with your coach?
Coach Jerry Tshabalala has a great personality. He is always pushing us to be better and has helped me to improve my game as a footballer since I joined.
MS: As a soccer player, what motivates you whenever you step on the pitch?
My eyes are always focused on the prize or the three points at stake. I love to win.
MS: How would you describe your role in the team?
As an attacker, my job is to create goalscoring opportunities for my teammates and myself. I also love to score goals, because they win you games.
MS: What does your daily diet look like?
This is the most important aspect of the life of a sportsperson. The popular saying is – ‘what you put in will always show’. As for me, I love my vegetables, fruits and lots of water. However, I don’t mind indulging a Gatsby whenever I am in Cape Town.
MS: What do you do for fun aside from playing football?
Play some great music and you will see me displaying all my dance moves from Umlando to Zula Zula dance. Therefore, during my spare time, it is me and my playlist.
MS: Do you play other sports aside from football?
I love the game of netball. If I did not play soccer, I would have chased that dream because I enjoyed playing as a centre.
MS: What/who made you interested in soccer?
My father and brother were my inspiration. While growing up as a kid, they would always take me along to the field on weekends. That was how I got interested in the game. It has been sixteen years since I first kicked a soccer ball and I have loved every moment of it.
MS: Aside from Mamelodi Sundowns, which foreign team is your favourite?
I am a Madridistas, as we say Hala Madrid. I am a huge Real Madrid fan.
MS: Apart from being an attacker, have you played in any other position before?
In the game of soccer, one needs to be versatile and that is one weapon possess. I have played in all the attacking positions and as a right back.
