THE CHAIRMAN'SLETTERDear Mamelodi Sundowns Supporter,
On behalf of everyone connected to your football club, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of the Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine for 2024. Our board, coaches, players and staff are excited to start another year with you. With your support, we believe that this could be our best year yet.
We closed off the previous year celebrating many milestones and have so much to feel grateful for, 2023 was an incredible year of historic achievements for our teams and the departments within the Club. Our ladies team won the CAF Women’s Champions League for the second time and our senior men’s team won the very first edition of the African Football League. Our Academy proudly became the first African youth team to participate in the Kevin De Bruyne Cup. Furthermore, Mamelodi Sundowns welcomed two new sponsors to the Yellow Nation. Again I must say “Thank you” to the players and people that made all of this possible. I would also like to thank our partners, Puma, Hyundai, Herbalife, Rocnation, Redbull and Southern Sun for being part of our successes over the previous year.
Whilst we can look back on the milestones of 2023 with immense pleasure and pride, we cannot rest on our laurels and simply assume that success is owed to us in 2024. J.J Watt, a decorated American Football player, wisely said that “The only thing harder than achieving success is maintaining it. Success is not owned; it's leased, and rent is due every day.” This is the type of mentality that great teams, iconic athletes, and even the most brilliant businessmen in the world have adopted throughout their most successful eras. From Tiger Woods to Michael Jordan; from Pep Guardiola to Bill Gates – these individuals all understand that success depends on consistent hard work, relentless hunger, and the humility to always want to be better. This is what we all want to achieve this year with you: we want to be better, we want to do more, and we want to dream bigger; because that is the spirit of this Football Club and the Slogan of our team “The Sky Is The Limit”.

This is not only our wish for the coaches, the players and the staff across the Club; this is our hope for our supporters too. On behalf of everyone at Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club, we pray that 2024 be the year that YOU make a massive breakthrough and achieve your personal dreams.

As I write this letter, many Mamelodi Sundowns players are carrying the dreams of their countries as they compete in this year's African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. I would like to send my best wishes to all of those who are participating in the tournament; and commend the organising body, CAF for an exciting tournament thus far!
As you might have seen across our social and digital media platforms, we have recruited new and enterprising talent to strengthen the squad. We welcome the new players and look forward to seeing them shine on the field in front of you, our beloved and loyal supporters.

Lastly, there are several projects that we are working on, with the purpose of growing the Club and galvanizing our supporters. Although I cannot disclose the details of these exciting new initiatives until they are finalized, what I can tell you is that we will continue to be the Club that elevates women’s football across Africa, we will continue to uplift our communities, and we will strive to deliver the successful Shoe Shine and Piano brand of football that has made Bafana Ba Style the ambitious Club that we are.
We will need your support more than ever if we aim to go further than we have gone before.

The Sky is the Limit!
