The highly rated midfielder signed a three-and-a-half-year deal, bringing his energy, vision and work ethic to a team that demands all-round excellence.Having spent five impressive years at Stellenbosch FC, where he played a key role in their rise to prominence, Adams arrives at Chloorkop with a desire to compete at the highest level. His journey with Stellenbosch saw him lift the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup and help the Club reach this year’s CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals—achievements that showcased his ability to thrive on big stages.

Adam could not hide his excitement upon making the move to the Yellow Nation, “Joining Mamelodi Sundowns is an incredible moment in my career. The Club has a distinct style of play, one that is admired across the Continent and I am excited to be part of it. The way Sundowns dominate possession, control games and approach football with intelligence and precision is something I have always appreciated. Now, I get to be part of that system, learn from the best and contribute to the team’s continued success.”

It did not take long for Adams to make his mark with Bafana Ba Style. He made his debut in early February during a dominant 4-0 win over Golden Arrows. Just days later, he delivered a standout performance in a 3-0 victory over SuperSport United, scoring his first goal and earning the Man of the Match award. On February 22, he once again rose to the occasion, scoring in a commanding 4-1 victory over TS Galaxy and claiming yet another Man of the Match honor. In just a few weeks, Adams had already become a crucial figure in Sundowns’ midfield, proving that he was more than ready for the challenge.
Adams has also been a key figure for Bafana Bafana under Hugo Broos, playing an instrumental role in South Africa’s impressive bronze medal finish.
The experience that he continues to gain at the international level with Bafana Bafana has sharpened Adam’s game and joining Sundowns feels like a natural transition, especially with several familiar faces from the national team already in the squad, most of whom he spent time with at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

“Knowing a lot of the guys from the national team made it easier to settle in. There is already that understanding on-and-off-thepitch, they have welcomed me like family. It helps a lot in terms of chemistry and adapting to the way Sundowns style of play.”
During his time at Stellenbosch, Jayden frequently faced off against Masandawana and got a firsthand experience of the team’s radiating quality. Reflecting on those battles, he singled out the players who gave him the toughest time.

“Themba Zwane, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Teboho Mokoena and Marcelo Allende—those guys are on another level. Themba, especially, is something else. He never loses the ball, even in National Team training. His composure and leadership are exceptional, and you can see why he is such an important player for both Sundowns and Bafana Bafana. Growing up, Themba had a huge influence on me. On the international stage, Lionel Messi is my biggest inspiration.”
When asked about his goals for the remainder of the season, Adams did not hesitate to set his sights high.
“Winning the Betway Premiership will be a huge milestone, and I am honored to be part of a team striving for it. But the big one is the CAF Champions League—I want to help Sundowns secure that second star and cement our place among Africa’s elite. We also have a couple of cup competitions and the FIFA Club World Cup to play for, which presents an incredible opportunity to showcase our quality on a global stage. Every competition matters and I want to contribute as much as possible to help the team achieve greatness on all fronts.”
